As you have probably noticed by now, I really enjoy living in the Boundary region of British Columbia. I also recently purchased an Epson Photo PC 850z Digital Camera so I have been taking snapshots of the area to show it off here on the Internet. I hope you enjoy these pictures of the Beautiful Boundary Country. Please don't critique too hard as I am not a professional photographer by a long shot.

Grand Forks from Valley Hieghts

CITY OF GRAND FORKS

This photo of downtown Grand Forks was taken from the road to Valley Heights Subdivision which overlooks the city.

Kettle River west of Midway

KETTLE RIVER SUN UP

This picture of the Kettle was taken at dawn next to the Sawmill in Midway where I work. Nice working conditions eh?

Greenwoods City Hall

GREENWOOD CITY HALL

Greenwood, Canada's smallest city has a very interesting City Hall. Upstairs is an old Courthouse complete with period aged law books.

Russian Village just west of Grand Forks

RUSSIAN VILLAGE

Driving into Grand Forks from the west side you can't help but notice the old communal villages on the sides of the hill.

Greenwood's Post Office

GREENWOOD POST OFFICE

Greenwood has lots of interesting architecture. One block up from the main street is the Post Office.

Midway Station & Rail Museum

MIDWAY STATION

When you drive down Hwy #3 you will see this landmark. Stop in visit the museum. If you aren't driving but biking the Trans Canada Trail maybe stay in the bunkhouse next door.

Hell's Bells west of Greenwood

HELLS BELLS

Just outside of Greenwood is the remains of an old smelter. A reminder of the areas mining heritage. When the slag was dumped from the smelter it left behind what look like large black bells.

Looking west at Midway

MIDWAY

The Village of Midway was once said to be destined to be the largest City in the interior of the province of BC because of its' strategic location on the border with road and rail access both east & west and north and south. When you visit ask the residents what it is midway between.

Christina Lake looking south

Christina Lake

What would a page of pictures of the Boundary be without a picture of "The Lake." Christina Lake is Canada's warmest tree lined lake and a favorite of residents and visitors alike.

OBSERVATION MOUNTAIN

Anyone who has been to the city of Grand Forks has noticed Observation Mountain as it silently watches over the town.

Grand Forks Valley from the west

GRAND FORKS

This picture of Grand Forks is taken from about halfway up Hardy Mountain Road and shows the valley from the west looking east. A beautiful view.

REFLECTIONS OF FALL

The picture Kettle River was taken right in the middle of the City of Grand Forks. It looks so rural it is hard to believe.

Grandby River Winter View

GRANDBY WINTER

This picture of the Granby River was taken by my daughter Leonora. She used my camera and the subject is appropriate so I thought I would include it as well.

SACRED HEART CHURCH

The Boundary area has many interesting and period buildings that have been well loved and cared for.

WILGRESS LAKE

Beautiful little rest stop located between Greenwood & Grand Forks on Hwy 3.. Take the time to walk some of the trails around the lake.

OTTERS

Two otters enjoying breakfast in the Kettle river west of Midway, BC.

Kettle River West of Midway

This is an interesting Suspension Bridge west of Midway. It was built so the kids that lived at the ranch could catch the School Bus that ran along Highway 3 on the opposite side of the river. It is one of my first attempts at creating a digital panorama.

Fall at Midway

The bridge and river downtown Midway taken from my backyard Fall 2006.

Pope & Talbot Sawmill / Midway

For those nostalgic employees and ex employees amongst us here is a couple of panoramic views of the worksite.
